According to Gasoline Civil Control Agency(GCCA), there are top three causes of air pollution being an area, point, and mobile. These categories depend on criteria of emission or ranks of dangers exposed to the environment pollutants precisely air.  Under criteria pollutants, major causes of air pollution are certain chemicals harmful to both physical environment and human health. Some of these chemicals being carbon monoxide, sulfur gas, nitrogen, and oxygen combustion and finally, lead. Capturing bioenergy from remains in lands and livestock’s waste reduces production via prohibiting the release of methane to the surrounding, a gas twenty-five percent stronger in effectiveness than combustion of carbon and oxygen. Also, producing energy via anaerobic ingestion minimizes bad odors plus, the creation of liquid fertilizers rich in nutrients.

While making a decision to apply the use of natural gas, one must consider energy security, the performance of vehicles using biogas for combustion, lower levels of emissions and, infrastructure and availability of vehicles applying natural gas as a source of energy. As compared to other sources of energy, natural gas is more affordable in terms of costs since combusting the gas requires less electricity as compared to other forms of energy. Natural gas is not as pure as solar or wind sources of energy, but it’s the purest source of fossil fuel available. It produces less carbon during combustion, as compared to coal and oil, and emits equals to zero sulfur hence, more cost friendly and efficient than other sources.

Natural energy source as compared to other generators is more dependable. Gas powered heaters applied during production, the energy required in them transported via pipe underground, hence secure and safe from effects of heavy rain downfalls accompanied by storms and harsh weather conditions. It is available even in emergent cases since no electricity used in the heating process(Zhang et al, 2014). Finally, as compared to other sources, natural energy serves as a domestic source hence aids in the reduction of depending on foreign oils.

A number of steps involved in extraction and implementation of natural gas. Application of natural energy comes with a number of advantages and disadvantages, to our natural environment and health conditions of every individual. Some of the achievements of applying the gas are, it’s a renewable source of energy hence continuous delivery of services while applied. Gas also lighter than air and more secure and safer as compared to propane which is heavy than air in mass. Also, releases fewer pollutants and burns less as compared to other energy sources. On the other hand, the gas has some shortcomings affecting our environment in a negative way. The main pro of this gas is global warming gas emissions. Even though it emits less hazardous gas as compared to other sources, drilling and extraction techniques applied, and its transportation to storage facilities leads to leakage of methane which causes environment degradation. Even though its emission rates are lower than other sources, it depends on levels of leakages since at some point it might surpass expected levels of pollutant production.

Production of natural energy causes air contamination. During the combustion process, it produces some amount of dangerous gasses like mercury, sulfur and other particulates considered hazardous. Also, burning produces a combination of oxygen and nitrogen elements which lead to the formation of smog. Most areas concentrating on its production, experience high levels of criteria contaminators which cause the destruction of the ozone layer, which protects our environment from direct layers from the sun.

Construction of areas for extraction causes land disturbances, altering land use and whole ecosystem which leads to soil erosion and new migration patterns for wildlife creatures. While land cleared for construction of drilling site, it leads to erosion of dirt, some minerals, and other damaging impurities into nearby water sources. Increased levels of erosion possess a danger to aquatic animals due to the release of dangerous chemicals into water bodies. During production, water used for domestic purposes could contaminate with harmful chemicals used for drilling extraction wellbores or by disposed water already used. Finally, fracturing of land during construction of extraction areas leads to the magnitude seismic activities which may end up being undetected later on causing earthquakes.


Even though no source of energy aimed at reducing pollution in our natural environment, natural sources of energy is more suitable as compared to other sources. Suitable measures put into place to manage its extraction means to ensure minimized emission of harmful gasses and firm construction to reduce physical damage to the surroundings.
