What is the backbone for the Internet?  Briefly describe how the Internet works.

Internet backbone is one of data routes principles between strategically, large interconnection core routers and networks on the internet. It is a line of data transmission working at a very high speed and that offers networking facilities to moderately small though high-speed providers of internet service across the globe. It is the biggest data links on the internet. They need high-performance routers or servers and connections of high-speed bandwidth.

Basically internet involves the inter connection of different computers from different parts of the world to allow information sharing. In this case, internet backbone providers take a responsibility of connecting computers together by providing a link that is linked by other internet backbones to form a mesh of connections. In this case information shared by use of World Wide Web by one computer can be accessed by other computers in this similar web.
