The material to be considered in this case is a semiconductor material. The three essential properties of a semiconductor include:

They are neither insulator nor good conductors of electricity

They are sensitive to light

They operate better as a high temperature

Silicon -based semiconductors assisted in shifting from vacuum tube computer to a digital computer. They highly reduced the computer size and the power required to run a computer. The semiconductors also played a great part in effecting the integrated circuits and thus they are responsible for the current advancement from analog computer to a digital computer that is more slim and portable. They have also promoted the computer processing speed and memory advancement.

Microchips is a unit of computer packaged circuitry which is manufactured from silicon for computer memory or program logic. Microchip is an alternate name or a synonym for integrated circuit. They all refer to the same thing.

Artificial intelligence is intelligence demonstrated by a machine or computer software. It makes a machine to work as a human would.

  • What are 2 essential differences between human brains and the central processing unit of a computer?

Computers is very fast in information processing and it do so by use of serial technique which means information is processed one after the other. On the contrary, brains process information at a slower pace as compared to a computer. However, brain can process massive information at once in a parallel way. The computer depend on an integrated circuit to achieve this while the brain depends on the neural system to do this. Another difference is that computer is a deterministic machine such that processing is based on coded instructions and thus, a similar question or in put will always have a similar answer or output in all computers. On the contrary, brain is a non-deterministic system, and it always grow and thus there is variation in its outputs for a similar input.
