Identify three hindrances to the critical-thinking process. Determine methods for overcoming these hindrances.
There are six biggest obstacles or impediments to critical or creative thinking, which can prevent you knowing how to improve and advance in your problem-solving skill (Brian Tracy International, (n. d). All of these hindrances have the ability to hold you back if you fail to identify and remove the obstacles. However, for the sake of this assignment, I will identify and explain only three obstacles.

Lack of Direction
Lack of clear objectives and goals is the first hindrance to critical and creative thinking. Every goals and goal need to be written down with well-listed action plans. Having a crystal clear mind of what you want to do, and how you will achieve your objectives, offers an opportunity for your critical and creative thought to come to life. Immediately you glitter with insights and ideas, which assist you to improve and advance your problem-solving skills.
Fear of Failure
Fear of loss or failure is another hindrance to critical and creative thinking. Having a fear of making mistakes, losing time, money or making a mistake hinders you from applying critical thinking skills. Consequently, it is not the encounter of failure that holds a person; rather it is the anticipation and possibility of failure that becomes the primary and fundamental reason for ineffectiveness and failure.
Fear of Criticism
Fear of criticism or fear of scorn, ridicule, and rejection is also a hindrance to critical and creative thinking. Most people are always afraid of looking foolish and sounding dumb, which is triggered by the yearning and desire to be approved and liked by other people. Apparently, it is sorrowful that most people live a life of mediocrity and underachievement as they are afraid of what other people will think about them (Brian Tracy International, n. d). Consequently, fear of criticism makes them play safe and only settle for less than their capabilities and capacity.
